02Device basics
Charge Note One and identify the controls
The front panel has a display, a mode switch, and a large round Record Button.
Display: shows device status, recording mode, and battery information.
Recording Mode Switch: slide down for NOTE Mode; slide up for CALL Mode.
Rear charging contacts: align the supplied charging/data cable with the contacts on
the back.
Before a long recording
Connect the supplied cable to the rear contacts, then connect its USB end to a suitable power source.
The device guide specifies 5 V / 1 A and approximately 1.5 hours for charging.
Check battery indication on the device or in the app's connected device information screen.
Check available battery and storage, disconnect the charging setup, and make a short test recording
before an important conversation.
Action
Control and confirmation
Wake the screen
Briefly press the main button; the display lights up.
Power on / off
Hold the main button for three seconds.
Start recording
Hold for about one second; one vibration confirms the start.
Stop and save
Hold again for about one second; two vibrations confirm the stop.
Wake is different from record. A brief press wakes the screen. Starting and stopping
use a press-and-hold of about one second. See
the device controls guide for
button timings.
03First-time setup
Connect and activate in the UMEVO App
Have your phone, Note One, and an internet connection ready. Turn on your phone's Bluetooth before
pairing.
Install UMEVO. Search for UMEVO in the App Store or Google Play. Create an account or
sign in.
Turn on or wake Note One. Hold the main button for three seconds if powered off, or
briefly press it to wake an already-on device.
Open the device connection control. From the file library, tap the upper-left device
control and choose UMEVO Note One.
Allow requested permissions. Follow Bluetooth, nearby-device, or location prompts
shown by your phone. These depend on your iOS or Android version.
Select and connect. Check the model and serial number if more than one device
appears.
Complete account binding. The first successful binding activates Note One. Return to
the library and check connection status.
Select UMEVO Note One, not Note Plus.Check battery level, recording mode, and SN after connecting.
One device, one account binding. Each SN can bind to one account at a time. If already
bound, unbind from the original account first. See
Account & devices.
Your new-device offer is applied automatically at first activation; no code is needed. See
AI minutes and benefits.
04In-person conversations
Record meetings, lectures, interviews, and voice memos
Choose NOTE Mode when the sound is in the room rather than coming through a phone's earpiece.
Slide down for NOTE Mode and up for CALL Mode.
Slide the small switch down for NOTE Mode.
Place Note One on a stable surface near the conversation. Avoid rubbing fabric and do not cover
microphones with papers or objects. For a voice memo, hold it near your voice.
Hold the Record Button for about one second until you feel one vibration.
Record independently: your phone need not stay connected. Locking or disconnecting it does not
interrupt device recording.
Hold the button again for about one second. Two vibrations confirm recording has stopped and saved.
Transfer and play a short section to check audio before deleting any copies.
Recording does not require internet. Original audio is saved on Note One; available session length
depends on battery and storage. Long sessions support automatic segmentation. The device guide lists
30-minute, one-hour, two-hour, and three-hour segments, with three hours as the default.
You can record before activation, after signing out, or after unbinding. Binding is needed to connect
the device to your app account; online AI processing requires internet. For recordings made offline,
open All Files → From Device → Meeting Mode or Call Mode → Add to List.
View the illustrated steps →
05Phone conversations
Record a phone call in CALL Mode
Put Note One in its magnetic case and attach it securely to the back of the phone.
Slide the mode switch up to CALL Mode before recording.
Use the phone's earpiece. Hold the Record Button for about one second; confirm one
vibration.
After the call, hold the button for about one second to stop and save; confirm two vibrations.
Transfer the saved file and review audio in the UMEVO App.
Keep Note One securely attached for CALL Mode.
CALL Mode restrictions: speakerphone, wired headphones, Bluetooth headphones, and
internet calls through apps such as WhatsApp or WeChat are not supported. CALL Mode uses a contact
vibration sensor together with a microphone.
Ask participants for permission where required and follow applicable recording laws and organizational
policies.
06Record from the app
Use Start Recording, Pause, Mark, and End
The app's Start Recording control starts a recording on Note One, not your phone's microphone. Keep the
recorder connected when using app controls.
Connect Note One and select the recording mode on the device.
Open the recording control from the file library and tap Start Recording.
Use Pause to pause and resume. Use Mark for important moments; the
panel also offers Input and Take Photo notes.
Tap End, then End and save, or Continue recording if not finished.
Return to the library, complete transfer, and open the saved recording.
Recording controls operate your connected Note One.Confirm End and save when the session is finished.
No phone-microphone recording option is currently available in the app. To work with audio recorded
elsewhere, use audio import.
07Move recordings to your phone
Transfer by Bluetooth, Wi-Fi fast transfer, or cable
Stop and save before transfer. Files cannot be transferred while Note One is recording.
Default Bluetooth transfer
Wake Note One, open the UMEVO App, and connect.
Check device recordings in the library and follow transfer prompts. Automatic recording transfer is
supported.
Wait for transfer to complete and check playback. If an offline recording is missing from All Files,
find it under From Device and tap Add to List.
No router or internet connection is needed. Bluetooth transfers complete recordings even with the
phone's Wi-Fi off. Fully transferred audio remains playable after disconnecting the recorder and taking
the phone offline.
Optional Wi-Fi fast transfer
Select Wi-Fi fast transfer when offered by the app.
Enable phone Wi-Fi and follow the prompt to join Note One's network or approve the system connection
request.
Keep devices nearby and follow progress. After transfer, the phone returns to its previous network
automatically.
This direct local connection needs no router, existing Wi-Fi network, or internet access. Without fast
transfer, Bluetooth is the default. Mobile data can provide internet for AI processing.
Wired transfer and OTG
Use the supplied data cable to transfer to a phone or computer. For a phone, the OTG adapter connects it
to the device cable. Align the rear contacts and follow destination file-access or import prompts.
Transfer is not transcription. Moving audio and generating notes are separate tasks.
Transfer does not automatically delete the original device file. Automatic audio transfer and Add to
List are also different steps.
Finish transferring or importing the saved recording and check playback.
Get online and check available AI minutes.
Tap Generate and choose Auto Generate or Custom Generate.
Auto Generate uses the automatic setup. Custom Generate lets you choose available settings, speaker
labeling, audio language, and a summary template before the first summary.
Tap Generate Now and follow progress.
Open Source for the transcript and Note for the summary; view the
generated mind map.
Choose a generation workflow before starting.Follow AI task progress in the app.
One combined AI task. Transcription and summarization are generated together; no
separate transcription button is needed. The mind map adds no extra minute charge.
UMEVO supports 114 transcription languages. A single mixed-language recording is not
currently supported. Transcription happens after recording, not in real time.
We recommend files of 180 minutes or less for manageable processing time. This is a
recommendation, not a fixed duration or file-size limit.
09Check and refine the results
Review your transcript, summary, and mind map
Move between Source and Note. Use playback and timestamps to check names, numbers, and decisions against
original audio.
Source view with example transcript content.Note view with example summary content.
Speaker labels: replace Speaker 1 and Speaker 2 with participant names.
Editing: edit transcripts and summaries after checking key details.
Mind maps: view the visual structure. Editing and separate mind-map regeneration are
not currently supported.
Example generated mind map.
Summary templates
Choose a template before the first summary, use the template community, or create your own. Custom
templates are private by default; members can choose to publish them to the community.
Changing a template and regenerating only the summary is free. Open
Note → Summary + → Change template. Rerunning the complete AI task charges minutes
again for the full original audio duration.

10Use your files elsewhere
Import audio and export finished content
Import an existing recording
Open audio import in the app, or Import Audio in UMEVO Web.
Select MP3, WAV, or M4A files from the phone or computer. Multiple-file import is supported.
Open the imported audio, check playback, and use the same Generate workflow.
Promotional minutes also work for imported audio, including phone recordings. Users without a bound
device can import audio and purchase a plan or minute pack for AI processing.
Export from the Share panel
Open the recording and tap the share icon near the top.
Under Export file, choose Recording, Transcript, Note, or Mind Map.

Choose Share link in the Share panel. Recipients can open it without signing in. Revoke it to stop
further access and check the shared content before sending.
11Phone and computer
Manage cloud sync and use UMEVO Web
Private Cloud Sync is enabled by default and syncs original audio, transcripts, summaries, and mind maps
for use in the app and browser.
Open More → Private Cloud Sync.
Use Enable Private Cloud Sync to control future syncing.
Enable Sync only on Wi-Fi to limit automatic sync to Wi-Fi internet connections.
Review storage and cloud cleanup before deleting anything.
Review cloud settings before cleaning up recordings.
Work on a computer
Sign in to UMEVO Web in a browser with the same account. Access synced content, or import audio directly
and generate transcripts and summaries. Web and App share one AI-minute balance. No installable UMEVO
Desktop app is currently available.
Use UMEVO Web in a computer browser.
Location
Content and behavior
Note One
Original audio is local. Transfer does not automatically remove it.
Phone app
Fully transferred audio plays with the recorder disconnected and phone offline.
Cloud / Web
Synced audio, transcripts, summaries, and mind maps are accessible through the account.
AI temporary data with sync off
AI-processing uploads are retained for three days; this does not apply to previously synced
content.
Turning sync off stops future syncing but keeps existing cloud data. AI upload still works. Cloud
storage currently has no set capacity limit or additional storage payment.
Deletion operations are different. Deleting a recording in the app deletes its Web copy
and original Note One file. Deleting it in Web deletes its phone-app copy.
Delete Cloud Recordings is separate: it removes cloud copies without deleting phone
content. Export important files before deleting.
12Device ownership
Switch phones, manage binding, and transfer ownership
Switch to a new phone
Install UMEVO and sign in with the same account; unbinding is not needed just to change phones. You can
sign in on two phones, but Note One connects to only one at a time.
Give the device to another person
Sign in to the currently bound account and use the device unbinding option.
Unbinding removes the account association but keeps device recordings. The device need not be nearby
or Bluetooth-connected.
The new owner signs in and follows connection and binding steps.
If the original account cannot be accessed, contact support with the device SN and binding problem.
Unbinding does not erase recordings. Review and remove sensitive files before
transferring ownership. Do not treat unbinding or factory reset as data erasure.
Multiple devices and reset
One account can bind multiple Note One devices. AI generation in a multiple-device account uses the
first device's minutes. Each SN can bind to only one account at a time.
A factory reset restores defaults without deleting recordings. Unbinding and factory resetting leave
existing phone and cloud content unchanged.
13Understand your balance
Use your new-device benefit and AI minutes
First activation automatically provides
30,000 minutes per month for three consecutive months, refreshed according to the
activation date. Afterwards, the free Starter plan provides 400 minutes per month. The
offer does not automatically become a paid subscription.
Benefits follow the device: each SN receives the offer only once. An existing account
can claim it by binding a brand-new Note One.
Changing accounts: does not restart the offer. A new owner inherits the remaining
benefit with its original start date.
Priority: promotional minutes, then plan minutes, then purchased minute packs.
Unused allowances: free and promotional minutes do not carry over. Purchased packs
are valid for one month from purchase.
Failed AI tasks: do not deduct minutes. A successful retry deducts minutes; a
complete rerun charges the original audio's full duration.
Summary-only changes: changing the template and regenerating only the summary is
free.
When minutes run out, recording, transfer, playback, and exporting already-generated content continue to
work. New transcripts and summaries require available AI minutes.
Paid subscriptions renew automatically; automatic renewal can be canceled. See
Note One FAQs for plans and current pricing.
14Get back on track
Common problems and what to check
Note One is not found during connection
Wake the recorder, check battery, and enable Bluetooth. Allow requested app permissions. Disconnect
any other phone connected to Note One, then retry in the app.
The device is already bound to an account
Sign in to the original account and unbind before binding another account. If it cannot be accessed,
email support with the device SN. Switching phones alone does not require unbinding.
An offline recording is missing from All Files
Reconnect Note One, open All Files → From Device, choose Meeting Mode or Call Mode, select the
recording, and tap Add to List. Automatic transfer does not automatically add every recording to the
main list.
I can see the recording but cannot generate notes
Check full transfer, playback, internet access, and available AI minutes. Local transfer does not
provide internet for AI generation.
Wi-Fi fast transfer has not connected
Enable phone Wi-Fi, approve joining the device network, and keep devices nearby. Default Bluetooth
transfer remains available. No router password is needed.
A call recording is quiet or incomplete
Check CALL Mode with switch up, secure phone attachment, and use of the earpiece. Speakerphone,
wired/Bluetooth headphones, and WhatsApp/WeChat calls are unsupported. Keep original audio for
support.
The transcript contains incorrect names or details
Check audio using timestamps, edit the transcript and summary, and rename speaker labels. Choose a
supported recording language and avoid mixed-language audio. Verify important details before sharing.
Cloud sync is off but old data remains in Web
Turning sync off stops future syncing, not existing storage. Review Delete Cloud Recordings and the
cloud section's deletion distinctions before cleanup.
Email support@umevo.ai with phone model, app version, device SN, a
screenshot, and the step where the issue occurred. Do not send passwords.
Bluetooth, optional Wi-Fi fast transfer, data cable
The supplied manual lists approximately 40 hours of recording and 30g. The supplied device guide lists
up to approximately 50 hours with the screen off and approximately 28g. These source figures differ;
actual runtime varies. See the
device guide specifications
and confirm the figures applicable to your unit with support.
Everyday care
Keep the recorder and contacts clean and dry; clean with a soft, dry cloth.
Avoid liquids, excessive heat, and strong impacts. Keep the supplied cable and accessories in good
condition.
Check battery and storage before long sessions. Export important content before deleting it.
Do not make unauthorized modifications. Contact support if the device or cable is damaged.
