Make sure you are following the instructions for Note One before connecting or recording.

The main button performs different actions depending on how long you hold it.
| Control | What it does |
|---|---|
| Large round main button | Brief press: wake the screen. Hold three seconds: power on/off. Hold one second in recording mode: start/stop. Hold 13 seconds: forced reset if unresponsive. |
| Small slide switch | Down: NOTE Mode for in-person audio. Up: CALL Mode for phone calls. |
| OLED screen | Shows recording mode, recording and saving status, battery, and connection status. |
| Rear magnetic contacts | Connect the supplied magnetic cable for charging and USB 2.0 transfer. |

Waking the screen and powering the device on are different operations.
Charging and wired transfer use the same magnetic pogo-pin connector.

Note One can record independently. Original audio is saved locally on the device.

For recordings made offline, open All Files → From Device → Meeting Mode or Call Mode, then tap Add to List. View the illustrated tutorial →
Choose the mode using the physical slide switch before recording.
| Mode | Switch and use |
|---|---|
| NOTE | Down. Meetings, face-to-face interviews, lectures, and voice memos using built-in microphones. |
| CALL | Up. Phone earpiece calls using the contact vibration or bone-conduction sensor, with Note One secured in its case on the rear of the phone. |

Long recording sessions are saved as separate audio segments rather than one unlimited device file.
Bluetooth 5.3 connects Note One to the app for device settings and time synchronization.
Use the app to bind the device to your account and manage recordings.

Use NOTE Mode for in-person audio and give microphones a clear path to speakers.
CALL Mode uses contact vibrations from the phone. Correct placement matters.

The rear magnetic pogo-pin connector supports USB 2.0 transfer and charging.
Check what the device is doing before pressing the button again.
