All You Need to Know About UMEVO Note One

Published: | Updated:
UMEVO Note ONE in black and white with the headline All You Need to Know

UMEVO Note ONE is a slim magnetic voice recorder that captures conversations independently, then works with the UMEVO App and UMEVO Web to turn saved audio into transcripts, summaries, and mind maps. It combines physical recording controls with Bluetooth transfer, optional Wi-Fi Fast Transfer, and an AI workflow you can continue on your phone or in a browser.

If you are considering Note ONE or setting up your first recording, this guide explains what the device does, how its software works, what your AI minutes cover, and the practical limits to know before you rely on it.

What Is UMEVO Note ONE?

Think of Note ONE as three connected parts, each with a different job:

  • The recorder captures audio and stores original MP3 files locally, even without a phone or internet connection.
  • The UMEVO App connects and manages the recorder, transfers files, and generates AI notes online.
  • UMEVO Web lets you import audio, review and edit notes, and export content through a browser.

Recording, transferring, and generating notes are separate steps. You can record offline now, move the audio to your phone later, and start AI processing when internet access is available.

UMEVO Note ONE is available in Anodized Black and Matte White, with a compact card-style body and physical recording controls.

Key Specifications at a Glance

Feature UMEVO Note ONE
Size Approximately 87 × 53 × 3.1 mm
Weight Approximately 28 g
Body Aluminum alloy
Storage 64GB internal storage
Continuous recording Up to approximately 50 hours with the screen off; actual runtime varies

Transcription 114 languages, after recording

Battery runtime and storage capacity are different limits. The 64GB capacity can hold approximately 4,200 hours at the specified 32 kbps recording rate, but that is not how long the device runs on one charge.

The package includes the recorder, magnetic case, magnetic ring, OTG adapter, and charging/data cable. Check the exact sales listing for the configuration included with your order.

NOTE Mode and CALL Mode Explained

NOTE Mode uses the built-in microphones for meetings, interviews, lectures, and voice memos. Slide the mode switch down before recording and keep the microphones clear of fabric, paper, and handling noise.

CALL Mode uses a contact vibration sensor for supported phone-earpiece calls. Slide the switch up and attach Note ONE to the back of your phone using its magnetic case. This is not a universal call-capture system: speakerphone, wired or Bluetooth headset calls, and internet calls through apps such as WhatsApp or WeChat are not supported by this mode.

Make a short test with your phone before an important call, and obtain any required permission from the people you record.

How to Start and Save a Recording

Hold the main button for about three seconds to power on. If the device is already on but the screen is dark, briefly press the button to wake it. In the selected recording mode, hold the button for about one second to start, then hold it again for about one second to stop and save.

The recorder can keep recording when your phone is locked or disconnected. In the App, recording controls operate Note ONE itself; they do not turn your phone microphone into a standalone recorder.

Files are saved in segments of 30 minutes, one hour, two hours, or three hours, depending on your setting. The default three-hour segment is a file-management setting, not a three-hour limit for the entire recording session.

Check battery and storage before you start. Low battery or full storage does not trigger automatic saving. Stop and save manually before either runs out.

Bluetooth, Wi-Fi Fast Transfer, and USB

Bluetooth is the default wireless transfer method. After Note ONE connects to the UMEVO App, it supports automatic audio transfer. Wi-Fi is not required for every recording to reach your phone.

Wi-Fi Fast Transfer provides an optional faster route. The recorder creates a hotspot, and your phone joins it following the App or system prompts. The audio moves directly between the recorder and phone, so the transfer itself needs neither a router nor internet access. This is different from uploading files to the cloud.

You can find the explanation under Device information → Transfer to UMEVO → Transfer to UMEVO App. Stop recording and save the file before transferring it; files cannot transfer while the device is recording.

The UMEVO App explains the default Bluetooth transfer and optional hotspot-based Fast Transfer workflows.

For a wired connection, the rear magnetic contacts support USB 2.0 data transfer through the compatible cable. The OTG adapter connects the cable to a phone for wired audio import. If USB Access is switched off in the App, recordings cannot be read through USB.

Transferring a file does not automatically remove its original from Note ONE. Once a recording has fully transferred to the App, it can play there without keeping the recorder connected or the phone online.

Your First Recording-to-Notes Workflow

Install UMEVO from the App Store or Google Play, sign in, and connect the recorder inside the App. First-time account binding activates the device and requires internet access.

For a recording made while the App was disconnected:

  1. Stop and save the recording on Note ONE, then reconnect it to the App.
  2. Open All Files in the recording list.
  3. Under From Device, choose Meeting Mode or Call Mode.
  4. Select the recording by its date and time, then tap Add to List.
  5. Return to your list, open the recording, and choose Generate.
Find offline recordings under From DeviceAdd a saved device recording to the UMEVO App list
Find saved device audio under From Device, then use Add to List to make it available in your main recording list.

This distinction matters: a recording stored on the device is not necessarily already in the App's main list. Added indicates that it has been added. Confirm Delete deletes the recording; it is not an import control.

For illustrated instructions, visit UMEVO App Guides.

What the AI Workflow Creates

After recording, one online AI task generates a transcript, summary, and mind map together. There is no separate transcription-only button in this workflow, and Note ONE does not transcribe live while it records.

Use Auto Generate for the default process, or Custom Generate to choose a summary template, enable speaker labels, and set the audio language before starting. Note ONE supports 114 transcription languages; a single recording containing mixed languages is not currently supported for mixed-language transcription.

Custom Generate settings for templates, speakers, and audio language
Custom Generate lets you set a template, speaker labeling, and audio language before processing. Available model settings can change with the App version.

Once processing finishes, use Source to read the transcript and Note to review the summary. You can edit both, rename Speaker 1 and Speaker 2, and use timestamps to return to the audio. Mind maps can be viewed and exported, but cannot be edited or regenerated on their own.

Community templates and custom summary templates are available. Your custom templates are private by default; members can choose to publish them to the community.

Want a different summary without another transcription? In Note, tap the + beside Summary, then choose Change template. This summary-only operation does not use additional minutes. Running the complete AI task again is different and charges the full original audio duration again.

UMEVO Web and Private Cloud Sync

Open UMEVO Web in a mainstream browser and sign in with the same account used in the App. It is a browser workspace, not an installable UMEVO Desktop application.

With Private Cloud Sync enabled, original audio, transcripts, summaries, and mind maps synchronize between the App and Web. Transcript and summary edits sync in both directions. You can also import audio directly into Web, generate notes there, and export audio or generated content. App and Web share the same minute balance.

UMEVO Web workspace with recent files and audio import
UMEVO Web provides browser access to recent files, audio import, and summary templates.

Private Cloud Sync is on by default. Switching it off stops future synchronization but does not remove content already in the cloud. You can still upload audio for AI processing; temporary AI data uploaded with sync off is kept for three days. That three-day period does not apply to previously synchronized content.

Keep deletion actions distinct. Delete Cloud Recordings clears cloud copies without simultaneously deleting phone content. Deleting an individual recording in the App also deletes its Web cloud copy and the original device recording; deleting an individual recording in Web also deletes the App copy. Export anything you need to keep before deleting it.

Original recordings stored on Note ONE are not encrypted by the device. Protect the physical recorder and your exported files, and review the applicable privacy terms before uploading sensitive material.

Importing, Exporting, and Sharing

Note ONE's AI workflow can also process audio recorded elsewhere. The App imports MP3, WAV, or M4A files, and Web also supports direct audio import. You are not limited to audio captured by the recorder. The App itself does not currently offer phone-microphone recording.

There is no hard maximum file size or audio duration for AI input, although keeping an individual file within 180 minutes is recommended to manage processing time.

Content Export formats
Audio in the App MP3
Transcripts and summaries TXT, SRT, DOCX, PDF
Mind maps JPEG, Markdown

Use the sharing control at the top of a recording's detail page to share a link, copy content, or export a file. Shared-link recipients do not need to sign in, and you can revoke a link to stop further access. Check the export options offered for your content type and interface.

New-Device Benefits and Ongoing AI Costs

Each eligible Note ONE receives 30,000 transcription minutes per month for its first three months, applied automatically at first activation. The allowance refreshes according to the activation date. It is a monthly allowance, not a single 90,000-minute balance.

When that offer ends, the device returns to the free Starter plan with 400 minutes each month. The end of the offer does not itself start a paid subscription. Unused free or promotional minutes do not roll over.

For ongoing use, the plan options are:

Plan Monthly transcription allowance Monthly billing Annual billing
Starter 400 minutes Free Free
Pro 1,800 minutes US$7.99 US$69.99 per year
MAX Unlimited transcription US$19.99 US$149.99 per year

Annual prices are the full yearly charge, not a monthly payment. Paid subscriptions auto-renew unless cancelled. Prices and available offers can change; check the actual payment page before buying.

Minute packs are another option: 120, 600, 3,000, or 6,000 minutes. Purchased packs are valid for seven days from purchase, so choose a pack you expect to use within that period. When multiple types of minutes are available, promotional minutes are used first, followed by plan minutes, then purchased packs.

If your allowance runs out, you can still record, transfer, play audio, and export content already generated. You cannot generate new transcripts and summaries without available AI minutes.

Failed generation does not deduct minutes; a successful retry does. The mind map generated with the transcript and summary has no extra minute charge. Remember that changing only the summary template is free, while rerunning the complete AI task charges the original recording's full duration again.

Accounts, Device Binding, and Changing Phones

Each Note ONE has a unique serial number, or SN, and can be bound to only one account at a time. You do not need to unbind it simply because you change phones: sign in with the same account. You can sign in on two phones, but the recorder connects to only one phone at a time.

To transfer the device to someone else, the original account must unbind it before the new account binds it. The new owner inherits any remaining promotional benefit with the original start date; binding again does not create another full three-month offer. Each SN can receive the new-device offer only once, and an existing account can qualify when it binds an eligible brand-new Note ONE.

An account can bind multiple Note ONE recorders, but the App displays and deducts the first device's remaining allowance. Selecting or adding a second device, even a brand-new one, does not switch the displayed balance to that device's allowance.

For account recovery or a binding problem, contact support@umevo.ai privately with your SN and relevant purchase details. Never send your password or verification codes.

Is Note ONE Right for Your Workflow?

Note ONE is suited to people who want a dedicated recorder for in-person conversations and supported phone calls, then prefer to review written notes on a phone or larger browser screen. Its practical strengths are independent recording, flexible file transfer, editable AI notes, and a shared App/Web workflow.

If your essential requirement is live transcription, headset call capture, an installed desktop application, or phone-microphone recording inside the App, those are not part of the current Note ONE workflow. Check that distinction before choosing your setup.
